This sacred land of Mizhou is rich in history, a cradle of divine civilization. In the age of primordial creation, heaven itself lent its aid, and the gods bestowed their protection. Here, Fuxi wielded his great axe to cleave the formless chaos of the primordial cosmos; here, Nüwa refined the five-colored stones to mend the tear in the heavens. Nüwa molded the first humans from clay; Fuxi scattered beans that transformed into armies — symbols of order emerging from chaos. Tens of thousands of years have passed, yet Fuxi Mountain still bears witness: the leftover five-colored stones from Nüwa’s sky-mending still lie scattered as the Five Fingers Ridge, the very bones of the cosmic pillar that holds up the heavens. The silver-blooming vines left behind by Nüwa still cling to the cliffs; the Immortal Cave, once the dwelling of Fuxi, remains hidden among the mist-shrouded peaks.
Drawing upon these ancient resources, modern tourism initiatives have been developed. The scenic area has been revitalized, with dramatic plank walkways clinging to sheer cliffs as its defining feature. The cable car glides slowly upward, offering serene views; the glass-bottomed suspension bridge allows visitors to gaze into the abyss below, feeling the vertigo of eternity. To commemorate the divine feat of sky-mending, a pavilion has been constructed atop the mountain summit. The walls are inscribed with poems by renowned calligraphers; murals depict the divine figures of antiquity. At its center stands a golden statue of Fuxi and Nüwa, their arms entwined as they jointly support the cosmic pillar. Poems extol Fuxi’s wisdom in ordering the world; lyrics celebrate Nüwa’s compassion in restoring life. Here, one speaks of heaven and earth with boundless scope — past and present converge in a grand vision of cosmic harmony.
Ascending the pavilion, one gains a lofty, far-reaching perspective. Looking downward, one sees thousands of homes nestled in the valleys — a tapestry of human life woven into the land. Far off, clouds and mist swirl like silk ribbons; up close, mountain ridges rise and fall like the breath of the earth. Wild geese fly northward on the third day of the third lunar month; swallows return to make their nests in a thousand households. Around, flowers and trees bloom in dazzling hues; from every direction, one beholds landscapes as exquisite as embroidered pearls. A hundred birds sing in the forest, heralding an age of peace and prosperity; flocks of pigeons dance gently by the lake, embodying tranquility and safety. Within the pavilion, the statues of the two immortals are intertwined, their forms fused into one — a single, inseparable body. Their cooperation mends the sky without a single seam; their mutual aid brings the blessings of creation. The cultural exhibits within the pavilion, framed by the living landscape outside, accelerate the transmission of the Fuxi-Nüwa legacy. All the immortals of the celestial realm gaze upon this pavilion — the northwest landscape of Mizhou stands out in radiant prominence. Pangu cleaved open the vast expanse of heaven and earth; the sun, moon, and stars now illuminate all things.
